The Japan Barista Championship (JBC) is a competition centered on espresso-based beverages.

Within a 15-minute performance, competitors prepare and serve four cups each of three distinct drink categories to the judges: espresso, milk beverage, and a creative drink known as a signature beverage. Evaluation covers not only the taste profile of the coffee, but also the entire sequence of movements and performance up until service.

Japan Siphonist Championship 2026 Final Round

Established in 2007 as a standalone competition dedicated to siphon coffee, the Japan Siphonist Championship (JSC) promotes siphon brewing technology and specialty coffee awareness.

Following a three-day preliminary round in Tokyo this May, six competitors advanced to the finals. The winner earns the right to represent Japan at the next World Siphonist Championship (WSC). Don't miss the chance to experience up close the delicate, precise techniques and imaginative performances unique to siphonists!

World Siphonist Championship 2026

Launched in 2009 as the global stage for siphon brewing, the World Siphonist Championship (WSC) celebrates its 14th edition this year. Over the years, it has produced world champions from Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and beyond.

During a 15-minute performance, competitors use halogen siphon burners to prepare three cups of a blend coffee and three signature beverages. Scoring evaluates both taste and presentation. Keep an eye out for the refined, nimble movements and creative presentations from national representatives around the globe.

Roast Masters Team Session 2026

The Roast Masters Team Session (RMTS) is a unique event designed to advance roasting technology while fostering networking and collaboration among roasters.

Departing from previous regional team formats, this year all participants will gather in one location for an intensive, overnight training camp. Teams will run repeated roasting and cupping cycles to unlock the maximum potential of the assigned coffee beans. On the event day, attendees can sample each team's ideal roast profile and vote for their favorites. Beans crafted by each team will also be available for purchase.

Japan Cup Tasters Championship 2026 Semi-Final & Final Rounds

The Japan Cup Tasters Championship (JCTC) tests high-level cupping skills to evaluate distinct flavor profiles in specialty coffee.

Competitors have an 8-minute time limit to identify the odd coffee out from eight sets of three cups each. The rules are simple—victory is decided by accuracy and speed—yet the tactical balance between prioritizing speed versus precision creates compelling drama. Come watch the top 16 semifinalists, who emerged from a pool of 224 competitors across preliminary rounds in Tokyo and Kobe!

The Japan Hand Drip Championship (JHDC) focuses on hand drip brewing—Japan’s most popular brewing method in both specialty coffee shops and home kitchens. In the finals, competitors are judged on their knowledge and technical skill in drawing out the coffee's flavor, as well as their consistency as professionals. To keep the focus strictly on brewing technique, all participants use designated equipment and standardized roasted beans. Come witness up close the inventive techniques of the 14 finalists who qualified through regional preliminary rounds!

The Japan Brewers Cup (JBrC) highlights manual coffee brewing techniques using non-mechanical devices such as pour-over filters, cloth filters, and the AeroPress. Competitors showcase their individuality and creativity in unlocking coffee's potential, demonstrating diverse flavor possibilities through their chosen equipment. The finals consist of two rounds: "Open Service," where competitors present and brew their chosen roasted coffee alongside a presentation, and "Compulsory Service," where judges evaluate pure taste using standardized roasted beans. Follow the exciting competition among the six finalists!
